Longwood Gardens

On Friday night I went with my friend Liza and her family to longwood Gardens, a huge garden with every imaginable kind of flower and plant. This year, they had lights after dark in the gardens. Some went as far as you can see in the woods, others were old water bottles stacked in collums. Most of the pictures of the lights Liza took, my camera didn't like taking pictures of them. The flowers, however, are all my pictures.

Let us never forget.

    Isn't it funny that after 9/11, Pearl Harbor, and every other tragedy that has befallen our nation, we have responded by growing stronger and working together against the cause of the tragedy? Even before our nation was a reality, when the British closed down Boston's industry by closing the harbor, food and supplies pored in from the other colonies. This was only the beginning of America's response to tragedy.

   

    I believe that God, in his divine Providence, has allowed the near death-blows to work for good and make the nation even stronger. I have seen how, throughout history, Americans have messed up, and my patriotism has suffered for it. But today I realized that patriotism, in my book, is really to God and country. Sure, we've messed up, but God has used us to do wonderful things for his glory, like the Berlin airlift.

Niagara Falls

Recently my family followed my dad on a business trip to New York. On Friday of that week, we took a trip to the nearby Niagara falls.

75,000 gallons of water spill over American Falls every second. 45.5 Million gallons spill over all the falls every minute. Some people don't see that much water ever, they don't even have enough to drink. The falls were certainly a majestic reminder of God's power, but I remember something that Jesus said about water,

"Jesus said to her, 'Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsy. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.'"

John 4:13-14

You can drink as much water as you want, say 75,000 gallons, but Jesus is the only One Who can quench your spiritual thirst eternally. 

Many of you know that I was planning on buying a Lab puppy soon, but earlier this week the Lord gave me the opportunity of getting a 9-month old lab-golden mix, which I did. Here is Lizzy!

The Northeast Kingdom

Hello everyone! I just came back from a week long trip to the Northeast Kingdom. In Connecticut we went to a Homeschool conference with the best speakers ever. Mom manned a booth for the company that we buy our school curriculum from, so Dad and I mostly travled from speakers to the booth hall on our own. There wasn't much to take pictures of except this sunset in Hartford, which was the location of the conference. Then, in Vermont, we visited friends and relatives and stayed in my Grandparents farm house.

Hans Herr Orientation

Hi everyone! Today I went through orientation at the Hans Herr house to become a junior interpreter. I will be there one day of the week for almost every week of the summer. My task is demonstrating basket weaving, which should be a lot of fun. I didn't take any photos yet, but I will! Oh, I also get an early colonial style costume to wear.
Because I didn't take any pictures of that, I am going to post a random nature picture.
